Over 500,000 Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX crossovers affected

The 2015-2018 Ford Edge and 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX crossover SUVs will be recalled for a brake hose leak that could increase the risk of a crash, Ford announced Wednesday.

The front brake hose could rupture in affected vehicles, causing a brake fluid leak. If the brake fluid level falls below a safe threshold, a brake fluid warning light should illuminate in the instrument cluster. Drivers may notice more brake pedal travel, or that it takes more effort to brake without as much response. The car may not brake as quickly or effectively, increasing the risk of crash.

Honda recalls 608,000 newer Odyssey, Pilot, Passport crossovers and minivans for multiple issues

Honda announced Tuesday it would recall three of its more popular models for four issues.

Honda is recalling the 2018-2020 Honda Odyssey minivan, 2019-2020 Honda Passport mid-size crossover SUV, 2019-2021 Honda Pilot three-row crossover SUV. The four recalls encompass 608,000 vehicles, but since the Odyssey needs multiple repairs, Honda estimates there will be 1.6 million recall repairs.

If users don’t follow the owner’s manual in folding down the larger part of the 60/40 split, then the buckle on the smaller side seat can break. The middle rear seat buckle can interfere with the right side, or passenger’s side, and

2020 Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, and Toyota RAV4 usher in new era of hybrid crossovers

For 2020, the best-selling cars in America come with hybrid options. The redesigned 2020 Ford Escape and refreshed 2020 Honda CR-V aim for the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, the best-selling non-truck in America that will also come as a plug-in hybrid for 2021.

The cutthroat compact crossover segment, which accounts for nearly one quarter of all new passenger vehicles sold, will have three hybrids for 2020. The redesigned 2021 Nissan Rogue does not come as a hybrid.

These five-seat family haulers are more similar than different, as evidenced by our rankings. But the redesigned 2020 Ford Escape gets the edge
